Confluences in Models of Rationality – Sunday May 30th 2010

Workshop organizers: Jake Chandler & Christoph Kelp

This one-day workshop will bring together members of the philosophy and artificial intelligence communities, to discuss analogies and points of contact between different bodies of research that offer formal models of various aspects of rationality.

The event is timed to coincide with a local meeting of the Rationality and Decisions network. This network connects approximately 25 researchers, both senior and junior, from a group of institutions that includes KU Leuven, the London School of Economics, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Groningen, the University of Lundt, the University of Kent and the University of Tilburg. Needless to say that we anticipate a productive and insightful Q&A session!

The following three distinguished speakers have confirmed their participation:

  • Hans Rott (Professor of Philosophy, University of Regensburg)
  • Didier Dubois (Professor of Computer Science, IRIT, University of Toulouse)
  • Vladimir Vovk (Professor of Computer Science, Royal Holloway, University of London)

‘Confluences in Models of Rationality’ is sponsored by the Benelux Association for Artificial Intelligence (BNVKI) and the KU Leuven Formal Epistemology Project.
